How we work
You shouldn't need a technical person to buy technology. These are the questions to ask any software company before you sign, with our answers.
What does discovery include?
It starts with a free systems review: a 45-minute call with Paul Hanner and a written summary within five working days. Then we map how your business works and write a plain-English specification: what we'll build, why, and how you'll know it's done. The specification is yours, whoever builds it.
Who works on my project?
You get a UK consultant as your CTO and project manager: your single point of contact, in plain English, from the first call to long after launch. Paul Hanner sets the architecture on every project. Our engineers build it, and our in-house lawyer handles anything contractual or regulatory.
Who owns the code, documents, data and cloud accounts?
You do. Anything that needs certification sits in your business's name from day one, as auditors require. For smaller systems we look after day to day, we hold the code for you and hand it over whenever you ask. Your data and your phone numbers are always yours.
What happens after launch?
We host, monitor, back up and patch your system and make changes as you need them, under a support contract with agreed response times. You can keep a dedicated team for improvements, with specialists on hand and our DevOps and cybersecurity team watching everything.
How do we pay?
However suits your cash flow: a fixed price for the build, or the same work spread into monthly payments. For the right business, we'll take part of our fee as equity instead. We agree which in writing before the build starts.
Monthly builds start from £3,000 a month, invoiced at the start of each month for that month's work. If you stop, you own everything built so far. Need it fast? Prototypes and MVPs start within 24 hours of you saying go.
After launch, you choose what you need: a dedicated team for maintenance and improvements, specialists on hand when you need them, and everything monitored by our DevOps and cybersecurity team. What that costs depends on the team you keep, and we agree it before launch.
Can I speak to a client like me?
Yes. Ask during your free systems review and we'll arrange it.
Will you tell me if I don't need bespoke software?
Yes. If an off-the-shelf product or a configured platform would do the job for less, the free systems review says so.
