Assist Telecommunications: a provider regulated in three countries

The brief

Assist Telecommunications supplies phone lines for delivery in the UK and South Africa. It needed to operate as a communications provider under the UK regulator and, through its US company, under the regulators in the US and Canada.

What we did

Our engineers built its telecoms layer: phone numbers, moving numbers from other providers, caller ID that is checked on every call, and emergency calls that carry the caller's address. Our in-house lawyer handled its registrations in the US and Canada.

The result

  • Assist Telecommunications Ltd, a UK communications provider regulated by Ofcom
  • Assist Telecommunications USA LLC, registered with the FCC in the US and the CRTC in Canada
